BKB 10 Years!

Booij, Klusman and Van Bruggen's brainchild BKB - sister of BKB Africa - is 10 years young! Reason for a big celebration in the Westergasfabriek in The Netherlands on 18 September.

What originally started from an improvised office in an attic in Amsterdam was soon swept into gear with the first assignments from the Ministries of Education, Culture and Science and Economic Affairs. The impact of ICT on Dutch society was the first big event organised by BKB.

Now, 10 years and many campaigns later (on health care such as Faster Better, Care for Better, big events such as the European Dance Event, the World Championships Chess-Boxing, Ticket for Tibet and five times the Night of the United Nations. BKB is currently working on the ICan campaign and the New York-Netherlands Job Swap.

Recently we finished another season of the BKB Academy (number 9) and of course 2009 saw the establishment of little sister BKB Africa!

The celebrations on the 18th September will consist of a programme full of debate, talk shows, lectures, great food and music from people with whom we have developed a special relationship over the years. With appearances of Amsterdam mayor Job Cohen, philosopher Rob Wijnberg, State Secretary of Defense Jack de Vries, former Labour party chairman and TV presenter Felix Rottenberg, director of Netherlands Refugee Foundation Tineke Ceelen, AEGON's director of communications Jan Driessen, foreign correspondent Joeri Boom and lots of music - Yonderboi, Wende Snijders, Alamo Race Track, Blue Flamingo, het Volksoperahuis, Trio Bier, Renske Taminiau and Leah Siegel.
