Twenty Ten: Make way for the African Dream Team of Multimedia Journalists!
The first time that the FIFA World Cup takes place on the African continent and an African DREAM TEAM of journalists covering the most exciting, (thought-)provoking and best human interest stories around it. Coverage of the World Cup on Africa, by Africa. That is the Twenty Ten Project.
Twenty Ten aims to give African journalists a voice by offering them an opportunity to express their own views of African reality as apposed to being reported on by foreign news organisations. The project digs deeper into the fertile soil of Africa to get those stories out that are often forgotten, neglected or simply not known.
Journalists from all over Africa have been selected to take part in this commendable project that has started a year ago and has provided professional development opportunities to already 108 African journalists, so-called All Stars. Together these journalists represent 34 African countries, from Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia and many more. Multimedia classes are led by reputable tutors, experts in their fields. And next week, one of the last workshops will be held. In Johannesburg.
All the journalists together, upon conclusion of the last workshop, will vie to become one of 18 top journalists, to be knows as the Twenty Ten DREAM TEAM, and travel to South Africa for the World Cup to report on the event.
BKB Africa is local partner of Twenty Ten and will organise the workshop in Johannesburg.
